Town climbed to 12th in the table after completing the Christmas league programme with a 4-1 home win over Millwall in torrential rain. Tommy Miller put Town ahead before Steven Reid put the Lions back on terms. However, Jermaine Wright, Marcus Bent and Miller again completed the victory.

Blues manager Joe Royle said he was particularly pleased for the fans after his side beat Millwall 4-1 at Portman Road. Two goals from Tommy Miller, one a penalty, and one each for Jermaine Wright and Marcus Bent took Town to victory with Steven Reid replying for the visitors.
